Weatherization assistance is not exclusive to the Community Action Council of Howard County. If you are looking for assistance, we are one of a number of resources available. We work with state and other agencies to help make homes more comfortable and affordable to live in.
In today’s post, we’d like to explain a little more about the Maryland Weatherization Assistance Program and where CAC fits into the bigger picture.
The Maryland Weatherization Assistance Program (sometimes called WAP) is the largest residential energy conservation program in the country. In Maryland, it is administered by the state’s Department of Housing and Community Development. But the state is not actually the one who schedules weatherization upgrades. That job is done by several agencies located throughout the state.
Including CAC, there are several agencies that provide weatherization services to households in Maryland’s 24 counties and equivalents.
We provide weatherization services to homeowners and renters across MD, in 18 counties plus Baltimore City:
Central Region: Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Harford, Howard, Montgomery
Eastern Shore: Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico, Worcester
Southern Region: Anne Arundel, Prince George’s
Western Region: Carroll, Frederick, Washington
